Sherri Shepherd joined the ladies of The View yesterday to dish her thoughts on the Miss Teen USA backlash. Shepherd didn’t hold back during the discussion stating Karlie Hay needs to give up her crown.
Over the weekend, The Miss Teen USA 2016 pageant was held, and Karlie Hay was crowned the winner. It wasn’t long into Hay’s reign that screen grabs of old tweets she had posted surfaced, showing her using the N-word multiple times. The Miss Universe Organization issued a statement saying they were “supporting her continued growth.”
Shepherd stated, “Be careful what you post, be careful what you say, because it could come back and it could cost you and hurt you.” Shepherd also states that letting Hay keep her title sets a bad example for other children.
