In this edition of the Love Talk, Erica Campbell discusses our tendency to shut down or feel insulted after being chastised or confronted about something. But the truth is, there is love in chastisement- the two go hand in hand. When somebody feels the need to chastise or confront you about something you need to hear, there is love in that.

It’s important to recognize that and thus receive chastisement knowing there is love in it. We often receive it as someone trying to control us, but that’s not necessarily the case! It doesn’t have to rub you the wrong way. On the flip side, it also means when we go to someone with chastisement, we must do it with love, so they may receive it that way, too.
