If you see a dog that looks like a German Shepherd running around the East 38th Street and Post Road area don’t try and approach it. Good morning I’m Tony Lamont. It may not be German Shepherd but a Belgian Malinois. Why is that so important? One suspect was shot in a police-action shooting overnight. State Police were in the area looking for a suspect that had fled from police earlier. A trooper came upon a person matching the description of suspect and during the contact with that person, shots were exchanged with the officer. The suspect was shot by the trooper. His injuries are unknown, but they are not believed to be life-threatening. A state police K-9 was released during the pursuit and the dog made contact with the suspect, but it is not known if it bit the man or just knocked him down. The K-9 ran from the scene during the exchange of gunfire. Officers have seen the dog, but have not been able to catch it. If you see the animal do not try to approach it, call police.
President Donald Trump tweeted what may have been a threat yesterday to NFL Owners. Trump tweeted. “Why is the NFL getting massive tax breaks while at the same time disrespecting our Anthem, Flag and Country? Change tax law!” It’s important to note the President’s tweet is misleading. The NFL gave up its tax exempt status in 2015. Some teams do receive tax benefits for stadium construction and the like, but those cases are all at the state and local level and out of federal jurisdiction.
