Be the Change You Want to See: Lawrence Police Department Announces Recruitment Initiative
INDIANAPOLIS (January 7, 2021) –Are you or someone you know passionate about public service? The Lawrence Police Department has officially launched a recruitment campaign in an effort to add the best, brightest and most dedicated to being the change they want to see in the community.
“We’re always looking for qualified individuals who have a calling for law enforcement and public service,” Lawrence Police Department Chief of Police David Hofmann said. “Through this campaign, we’re searching for versatile, diverse and well-rounded people that have common sense, good judgement and are ready to serve our community.”

To assist with recruitment efforts, Lawrence Police Department is ramping up its traditional and digital marketing efforts with an outreach focused on Central Indiana individuals and expanding throughout the state of Indiana. The campaign utilizes a multi-media strategy, including videos of officers, digital advertising, social media outreach, billboards, printed materials and other tactics to promote job details, qualifications, history of the Lawrence Police Department and other details that share the benefits of working for the Lawrence Police Department.
These campaign efforts will run through the application deadline of February 28, 2021. Once the application deadline passes, Lawrence Police Department will begin the process of hiring. This will encompass physical, mental and psychological testing, as well as background testing.
“Our team works hard to protect, serve and represent the Lawrence community in the best way possible,” Hofmann said. “I am eager to add even more exceptional men and women who are dedicated to our mission and are eager to enhance our community service and public safety initiatives.”
