Audio Included in Post. Audio ©2010 WTLC/Radio One. Hamilton County Prosecutor Sonia Leerkamp talked about the Carmel High School Basketball hazing case on Tuesday’s Afternoons with Amos. Leerkamp, whose been Prosecutor for sixteen years, explained aspects of the case and the law to AWA listeners.

Leerkamp discussed the grand jury process, the diversity on the grand jury, and other aspects the case she could discuss under Indiana trial rules. Four former Carmel HS seniors were charged with misdemeanor battery and criminal recklessness for attacking three freshmen basketball players in the school’s locker room and on a bus returning from a game in Hendricks County. Two of the victims and one of the four alleged assailants were African-Americans.
