The ladies of the daytime television show “The View” engaged in a deep discussion on the use of the n-word following the controversy surrounding a rock at the entrance of Republican Rick Perry’s hunting camp that read “Niggerhead.”

Hosts Whoppi Goldberg, Sherri Shepherd (both who are Black) and Barbara Walters all used the word on-air, talking about Herman Cain’s use of the term. Walter’s use of the word in particular is when things got akward.

“When I heard you say it, it was fine,” Shepherd told Goldberg. Turning to Walters, she continued, “I didn’t like the way you said it.” In explaining this, Shepherd used the word several more times.
