U.S. Citizens Head To The Polls To Vote In Presidential Election

It’s Primary Election Day here in Indiana today and across our area the polls are open until 6 p.m. for these municipal elections.

Mayoral primary races are the key races here in Indianapolis with several candidates vying for their party’s support to win the city’s top leadership post since Mayor Greg Ballard is not seeking re-election. In the northern part of the metro area, Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard and Westfield Mayor Andy Cook are both up for re-election.

Hiking property taxes is the key issue for voters on this Tuesday in Beech Grove, Perry Township, Wayne Township and Brownsburg.  Voters in those areas have the opportunity to cast their ballots to decide whether their schools can make the increases–which means homeowners would pay more–as they head to the polls today.

Regardless of where you’re voting in Indiana today, you will need to show your I.D. at the polls. Remember to take it with you when you head to your polling place. If you still need an ID to vote, the Bureau of Motor Vehicles will be open until 6 p.m. to serve you.
