As the Powerball approaches a $1.4 billion jackpot, one man is happy he mistakenly purchased a Mega Millions ticket instead.
His mishap earned him a cool $165 million. The unidentified man bought the ticket at Willowbrook Deli on Staten Island, N.Y. The winning numbers were 11, 39, 51, 57, and 75, with the cash value of the prize coming out to $101 million.
“We were shocked,” deli manager Sarbjit Sing told SI Live. “We didn’t see the winner yet, but we’ve been asking our regular customers to check their tickets.”
Staten Island has been the home of 34 lottery-winning millionaires since 2010.
And with everyone else still clamoring at the chance to win the Powerball jackpot, the Willowbrook Deli might see more customers than usual.
The Powerball jackpot is expected to approach a record $1.4 billion this week, a life-changing chunk of change for a supremely lucky winner.
