There has been lots of discussion about Kirk Franklin working with Kanye West on his most recent album, The Life Of Pablo. Franklin is featured on “Ultralight Beam,” which is the first song on West’s album. On Easter, West dropped a new track featuring Franklin titled, “Ultralight Prayer.”
The new track features a nearly two minute sermon from Franklin, with a choir singing in the background. Franklin starts by saying, “Father this prayer is for everyone that feels they’re not good enough.”
Franklin got lots of criticism from his fans for working with West. About a month ago, he took to Instagram to defend himself. Franklin stated, “Kanye is not me. I am not him. He is my brother I am proud to do life with.” Franklin went on to say, “To a lot of my Christian family, I’m sorry he’s not good enough, Christian enough, or running at your pace…and as I read some of your comments, neither am I.”
The album is still a work in progress, and is only available for stream on TIDAL. There is no word if this new track will be on the final version of the album or not. You can listen to “Ultralight Prayer” below.
