Man Killed In Trench Accident

One man died and another man was injured when the walls of a trench collapsed on them last night, trapping A homeowner, identified as Ross Hoffman, and his friend, Jason Ewer.

Police said Hoffman was buried up to his chest and Ewer was buried up to his waist.

Emergency workers dug both men out and transported them to Marion General Hospital.

55 year old Hoffman, was unresponsive at the scene and was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Ewer was treated and released.

 

Girl, 12 Injured In Head By Sledgehammer

A 12-year-old girl was critically injured in a disturbance involving a sledgehammer on the city’s east side last night.

The disturbance happened in a home in the 2700 block of Priscilla Avenue just before 9 p.m.

Police said the girl was struck on the head with a sledgehammer and was taken to Riley Hospital for Children in critical condition following the incident.

Police said the girl was awake and breathing when she arrived at the hospital.

 

Colts Rank 11th Most Profitable NFL Team

Forbes has released its annual list of the most valuable teams in the NFL…and The Indianapolis Colts rank at Number 11.

Forbes estimated the Colts’ total team value at $1.2 billion, citing 2012 revenue of $276 million and operating income of $65 million.

Rounding out the top 5 are Houston Texans, New York Giants, Washington Washington Football Team, 2nd place New England Patriots, and 1rst place the Dallas Cowboys at $2.3 billion.
