Fire at Indy’s Oldest Catholic Church

A fire at a church in downtown Indy. Arson investigators were sent to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church after the building’s security alarm sounded just before 5 a.m. They discovered a small fire inside the back of the church that caused $15,000 in damages.

Police also reported suspicious activity at the church. The church sits at the corner of Georgia Avenue and Capitol Street in downtown Indianapolis. St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, built in 1846, is the city’s oldest Catholic church.

Carmel Bank Robbers Still On The Loose

Police in Carmel are still looking for two men that robbed a bank on Monday. It was the first bank robbery in Carmel in three-years. Police say both men had guns when they walked into the Ameriana Bank and demanded cash.

Pacers Beat Golden State

The Pacers’ winning streak continues. They beat the Golden State Warriors last night 108-to-97. Center Roy Hibbert was ejected from the game and four other players received technical fouls during a skirmish in the fourth quarter.

The Minnesota Golden Gophers pulled off a 77-73 upset win over the top-ranked Indiana Hoosiers. It’s the third time the Hoosiers have lost this season as the top-ranked team in the nation. The Hoosiers return home to host Iowa on Saturday night.

IPL Honored For Customer Service

Indianapolis Power and Light is being recognized for its customer satisfaction. J.D. Power and Associates gave IPL the highest score. Utility officials say they recently upgraded their website for smartphone and tablet users, and are trying to expand their customer service
